Microsoft LifeCam HD Drivers Download – Update Microsoft Software (Webcam) – Question Info
Okay so you keep telling your users that there are drivers for your LifeCam Windows 7, 8 and 8. Why on earth should anyone go out and purchase a Microsoft LifeCam as I did before your Windows 10 came online only to find out there is not a Driver for Windows It’s one of your products so I am scratching my head as to why I should bother buying Microsoft Devices.
Yes I can get the Cam to work, but in Windows 10 I have lost all of the controls that I liked such as camera tilt, and zoom. Please give us a download driver dedicated to Windows 10 so that I can have all uses back as that is why I brought this Cam 3.
Let us know the make and model of your devices to search drivers for the device model. We will soon release the drivers for the Microsoft devices to work on Windows 10 Operating System. Refer to the Microsoft Help article below to install the drivers for the device and check if it helps.

Thanks for your feedback. Thank you for your reply, my device is LifeCam 3. Now one has to open the LifeCam program adjust it then close that program and open the Socialising program that you are using the cam in as both will not work together.
Perhaps if Microsoft eventually dedicate a Driver to Windows 10 this problem will be overcome. Why you lapsed with your own devices where as other manufacturers such as Logitech delivered their own Drivers for Windows 10 I do not know. It seems that Microsoft has other more important things to do like making even more billions and billions rather that sort something that one would have thought very simple considering their resources!
Considering how cheap a new webcam is, and how much more capable and better quality today’s webcams are, just get another webcam and move on. Or are you wanting to make a point about today’s throwaway society where nothing lasts anymore and we’re harming the environment by throwing away perfectly good stuff, etc. You won’t get any argument over that. In reply to james mcguireyw’s post on October 13, I am still waiting for Microsoft to dedicate a driver for this product for Windows 10, downloading for 7 tells one before continuing with the download that some programs will not work. You can get the cam to work but not as it did in Windows 7 or 8. Distorted I have 3 HD Lifecams and since updating to Windows 10 none of them now work.. I have read other queries and tried the compatability mode option as suggested, but still does not work and says LifeCam can’t run on windows? This thread is locked. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling devices from device manager? To do so: 1. Click on “Device Manager” 3. Click on “Image acquisition devices” 4. Right click on your Microsoft Livecam HD 5. Click on “Remove” 6. Click on “Detects Hardware change” monitor icon 7.

Omoikane Independent Advisor. Post, Windows 7, there are no signed drivers for the Lifecam HD , however, built into Windows there is a generic webcam driver that might get your Lifecams working again.
Please follow these steps: 1. Open “Device Manager”. Expand “Imaging devices”. Locate the name of your “Lifecam HD camera” in the list and right-click on it. Select Update Driver Software. Click Browse my computer for driver software. Click Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions to update the driver. Please let me know if the above solution helps you to solve the problem. Just in case you need these instructions this is how you can install the Windows 7 drivers in Compatibility mode: Locate and right-click on the driver setup file on your PC and click on Properties. Click on the compatibility tab, check the box Run this program in compatibility mode for, select Windows 8.

Let’s try a different route of uninstalling the existing driver, then running Windows update, then trying to reconnect the Webcam. Next, 1. Select the driver for the HD LifeCam the name should include “LifeCam” in it but I’m not sure of the installed driver’s exact name for that version , Right-click and select “Uninstall”.
The next step I suggest is to use a “Registry Cleaning” program to remove the former Driver’s Data from the registry. Sadly, Microsoft doesn’t provide such a tool and I can’t post a link to one here, but there are several available via a Google search. If you’ve been able to find a Registry cleaning program, run it, if you have not, please restart your computer now.
If updates are found please install them, and once the updates successfully install please restart your computer. If no updates are found, then restart your computer at this point, however, it’s important to let updates found install even if they seem unrelated to this issue.
